I am feeling so broken because a part of me thought my relationship with Carl was going to work. Dear Annette,
Your Angels want to point out that God is not exactly who you think He/She is.  God is rather an omnipresent energy of Loving Light and does not micromanage our lives. Perhaps the God Source exists not to tell us what to do, but rather to be a support for each of us to learn how to live in a physical body, and in a place of peaceful unity with all life everywhere. People come in and out of our lives, offering us opportunities to try this, try that, until we begin to understand who we are and what we need to create a balanced life.  Each of us has similar basic needs, and yet each is unique in what is acceptable behavior.

Your Angels did not tell you Carl was the perfect guy for you. They said, as I recall, that since you really wanted to reconnect with Carl, and he offered to help you "get back on your feet," that as long as you didn't live together, you could give it a try.  The challenge here is for you to understand that each of us chooses to create what we need to see about ourselves. One day we open our eyes and understand what our true self needs to live a purposeful life in a state of happiness.

The answer is always to listen to your heart.  Balance what your heart feels with what your senses tell you.  If these two do not match, you know there is work to be done. It appears as if it is time to disconnect or if you both are willing, to get involved in therapy to resolve your joint issues.
