Dear Angels,
I recently took a job that I thought was perfect for me.  I am struggling with these tough kids and their issues as well as the new boss who's abusive.  What is the Angels advice on how to make this work?  Or does it not work for me?  I thought this was a gift but now it is looking like a Trojan horse.  I need guidance here.  I feel so emotionally vulnerable."  Katie,Barnes, WI

Dear Katie,
You look like you are having a tough time, period. I see that you are a deeply spiritual woman with traditional values. Your naturally loving ways, which you share at this job, do not seem to make a difference. Your Angels indicate you are working diligently, not making much money, and doing your best, but inside, you want to scream with frustration.

What I'm hearing is that, if you choose, you can begin to look elsewhere while maintaining this job.  As you take control for yourself by acknowledging that this behavior is not what you deserve from the kids or your supervisor, then you can work on yourself by changing your attitude, forgiving the whole bunch of them, and opening to a new position that is better suited to you. 

It is obvious that you are well-intentioned and thought you could make a positive difference in your field.  Perhaps you did not expect to deal with people so opposite in goals and desires from you. Or perhaps you are required to exhibit more compassion than you have available right now. Maybe you are the one needing to be nurtured and offered a healing place before you can help another.

I think the Angels make a really good point. Perhaps I need to readjust my thinking and not give so much of myself. I think I can make this situation work but I need to be more realistic with this population and focus on nurturing myself. I find this thought process very helpful and one that had not occurred to me. Really good thoughts. Thank you!
