Dear Angels,
"My father, Phillip, has a lot of medical conditions.  He has had a lot of operations including open heart surgery.  He is undergoing another procedure shortly.  I would like to know if he is going to be ok and around for many years to come or is he just fighting things that he can't beat?"  Jenell, Sydney, AU

Dear Jenelle,
Your Dad seems to be a good man who takes his responsibilities seriously.  I would guess that he's pretty easy to get along with as long as you don't go where he has definitive opinions unlike yours.  Then he can be stubborn.

Your Dad's surgery will enable him to keep going, but it's an uphill battle.  The underlying issues that created the need for surgery have not been addressed, so they will stay with him. It is a tough situation for an outdoorsy kind of guy like him.  Most likely, he will not be able to do the things he used to do with ease.  He is at a place in his life when physically, he must slow down.

It would make your Dad happy if you were able to take better care of yourself and get a decent-paying job.  He sees you as holding back and afraid to launch your ideas. He would like nothing better than to see you with a job that you could grow in.   Your Angels share that your Dad loves you very much. You are part of his happiness in creating a loving home life.
